Akshay against negative trends

Actor Akshay Kumar has urged his fans not to indulge in any negative practice on social media regarding his upcoming film Sooryavanshi.

A few days ago, the release date of Rohit Shetty directorial Sooryavanshi, featuring Akshay Kumar, was advanced to March 27, 2020, to avoid clash with Salman Khan's Inshallah at the box office. The change in the release date did not go down well with a section of social media users as they started using hashtags like "boycott Sooryvanshi” on Twitter. The film was earlier scheduled to release on Eid 2020.

‘I never thought I would be doing the things I have gone on to accomplish. So every milestone and every step of the journey so far feels like a dream. I have worked very hard for everything but to find myself around people I look up to and admire that too  at an India-Pakistan match at the World Cup is unbelievable.’

The actress said, “I am very happy and glad my film Uri is getting released in Telugu, its been a while I haven't worked in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu languages. I am very happy and its always good when a good film reaches a wider audience. The Telugu and Kannada audience have always acknowledged good cinema. Good films like Uri will do well everywhere. For me there is a special connect all the more because I started off my career with films down there, so I am very happy to back with a good film.”

Romeo & Juliet’s Zeffirelli dead

Italian director Franco Zeffirelli, who delighted audience around the world with his productions, most famously captured in his cinematic Romeo and Juliet, has died in Rome at 96.

Throughout his career, Zeffirelli took risks and prided himself on knowing the tastes of modern movie-goers.

He was one of the few Italian directors close to the Vatican and the church turned to Zeffirelli’s theatrical touch for live telecasts of the 1978 papal installation and the 1983 Holy Year opening ceremonies in St Peter’s Basilica.
